Read to Dream Experience

Through this residency, The Young Dreamers bookstore will offer The Read to Dream Experience, an interactive educational program designed to inspire children and families to connect reading with their dreams. Through dialogic reading, meaningful discussion, and creative expression, participants will explore how their aspirations can help shape a better world.

Objectives of the Educational Residency:

  • Offer families an opportunity to learn with and from each other,
  • Foster a lifelong love of reading and strengthen the connection between children’s dreams and literacy.
  • Offer families the opportunity to purchase books for their home libraries,
  • Highlight children’s books featuring protagonists of African descent from around the world.

Residency Schedule

The residency will be held monthly at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Each session will feature a unique theme and interactive activities for children and families.

The theme of the first program is Our Dreams Make the World Better.
